Early season injury lay-offs can often be debilitating. After weeks of fine-tuning during preseason and on the training fields, best laid plans can be thrown out of the window when a player is laid low.

For Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool it is a familiar tale already this season with the new campaign only three games old.
